During these times of uncertainty, change and stress, positive affirmations can help to help us feel more at ease. Our brains are so powerful that different words can evoke different feelings in our body. I'm sure the words virus, lockdown and COVID-19 probably make you feel pretty uncomfortable right now - tense shoulders, shallow breathing and maybe even that horrible racing heart rate.
So, why am I telling you this?
By changing our focus and attention to positive words that we can control. Our inner voices can often be quite negative with rolling worries or fears. By creating your own list of positive affirmations we can quieten those voices and affirm our own strength, and ability to deal with these uncertain time.
If you do one new thing today, why not try writing your own list of positive affirmations for when things get a bit too much. You can also check out the calm breathing videos on the resources page on my website.

I believe in my ability to get through tough times.
I will let go of things I can't control.
I will feel calm today by practising my calm breathing for 5 minutes.
